Feedback from the Globalpress Community
What Clients Think: Xilinx, Lisa Washington, Director, Worldwide Communications “Our participation in the Globalpress Electronics Summit has paid off for Xilinx in myriad ways over the past four years. A combination of keynote talks, panel discussions, press conferences and special events has created a fabulous forum for building even stronger bonds with the “who’s who” of the international editorial community, generating hundreds of articles. It’s become an essential component of our annual PR plan and complements our own global PR outreach and programs. Plus, it’s a great time saver for Xilinx executives – they can spend a day or two in a single location, rather than weeks traveling the world.”
Mentor Graphics Corp., Ryerson Schwark, Director Public & Investor Relations “Mentor Graphics has worked with Irmgard Lafrentz for years and have found her to be a great professional who has delivered us good results at a good value.” Linear Technology Corporation, Doug Dickinson, Media Relations Manager “Irmgard continues to provide unique international editorial services to the electronics industry at tremendous value to cost conscious customers such as Linear. I've known and worked with Irmgard for many years and have the utmost respect for her as a business person who always delivers what she promises.” Susan Cain, President, Cain Communications "Over the past four years several of our clients have participated in the Globalpress Summits. Every client has been pleased with the editor selection and quality. The organization and the diversity of the service offerings allow us to achieve our goals within our client’s budgets. These are a high-value, cost effective PR events with proven ROI. Cain will continue to recommend the Summit and Globalpress reverse press tours to our clients for international PR." The Analyst's View:
“I thought that the Globalpress Electronics Summit was not only an excellent event that was well-planned and well executed, but it was informative, enjoyable and stimulating, as well. The conference sessions featured top tier executives from the major companies in the Electronics Technology markets, and the interaction between the audience and the speakers lead to some challenging questions being answered.” Gerry Kaufhold, Principal Analyst, Convergence, In-Stat, Division of Reed Business “Several things impressed me about the Globalpress Summit. The turnout was about 80% editors and 20% industry people, and it’s usually the opposite situation at the events I attend. Media plays an important role in the electronics industry, where rapid technology advances, converging global markets, time-to-market pressures and the push to reduce costs leave electronics companies juggling more challenges than ever. The Globalpress Summit brings together a truly international press corps with Asia and Europe well-represented—a great value to Silicon Valley companies competing worldwide.” Joanne Itow, Managing Director, Semico
Editorial Opinions:
Spending a week of the office can be an inconvenience sometimes, but I make an exception for Globalpress Summits and tours. I find them a great use of my time. In a few days, I am guaranteed to come away with plenty of news stories, contacts and discover new companies that would not normally spread their message outside ‘the Valley’. The Globalpress week is hard work but always enjoyable. It has always been very rewarding with plenty of editorial content and invaluable opportunities to meet key executives to hear their news, ask their views and to develop story ideas. It is often the first place that applications or trends are identified which leads to feature articles in the magazine. Journalism is all about contacts, and at Globalpress there is no shortage of them! I have been able to follow up feature ideas months later using contacts made in that week. This resource is invaluable to an editor. I always come away with lots of new contacts as well as cementing established ones at a mix of leading and emerging companies. Above all, the week away from the office is enlightening; the sessions allow time for questions and some companies arrange informal opportunities to mix for further social and to exchange views. I always return with plenty of material and new perspectives on the industry. Caroline Hayes, Chief Editor, EPN, UK
"I was lucky to be part of several Globalpress press delegations representing various publications. I am always learning and my readers welcome the news from the US. Liying Chen, Associate Publisher, EDN, China
"Globalpress events provide us the opportunity to meet many high-level technology executives, and entrepreneurs from emerging companies that we would not otherwise see in China." Jake Chen, Managing Editor, Electronic Design-China The Globalpress Electronics Summit is an effective way for me to catch up with a lot of established and emerging companies quickly. The Summit provides material that is immediately useful for stories, as well as providing insight and leads for longer-term projects." Luke Collins, Journalist, U.K. "I've attended Globalpress events for four years. They put together speaker panels that are especially informative for my technical audience of engineers. I like the fact that there are many opportunities for Q&A with high tech executives." Bob Lee, Editor in Chief, Semiconductor Network, Korea
